Utilising Office 365 for Assessment

Finding out where students are at in their learning is an important process to help teachers design learning sequences that meet the needs of the student. Microsoft Forms is a simple survey tool that can be used to create pre-assessments to inform our teaching.

A class team in Microsoft Teams has an Assignments function. Assignments can be created and distributed to whole classes or individual students. Rubrics can be created to provide feedback to students on their learning.

Assessment as learning is a crucial form of assessment as it allows the learner to reflect on their own learning. There are many ways students can self assess. This video shows how rubrics in OneNote can be used to support this.

The Assignment function in Microsoft Teams can be used to distribute assessments to a Class Notebook. Likewise students can submit their work from class Notebook using Teams Assignments.
